Super 16 Showcase Preview

There will be a plethora of division I talent in action today at Quinnipiac University as the second annual Super 16 Showcase tips this morning.   

Last year’s event turned heads when it drew over 100 college coaches in only its first year of existence and this year’s showcase is expected to be no less exciting as we’ve put together a field that is even more talented from one year ago. 

The New England Playaz, Expressions Elite, Connecticut Basketball Club, MBR, Metro Boston, Upstate Basketball (New York), and many others return from last years field where they’ll be joined by new additions including New Heights (New York), Mass Rivals, Champlain St. Lambert (Canada), New Jersey ABC, 518 Hustle (New York) Long Island Lightning Dingle (New York), and the New York Panthers. 

Some of the marquee match-ups of the day include the 9:30am battle between two well coached and skilled teams as MBR faces off against Champlain St. Lambert. 

At 10:45 Expressions Elite takes on Connecticut Basketball Club in the u16 division in a game that could feature as many as 8 high major prospects, most notably Andre Drummond and Alex Murphy. 

Metro Boston will get another crack at Expressions Elite u17 team at 1:15 in a rematch of a terrific game that was played yesterday at the Hoop Hall National Invitational. 

Fans will be in store for another widely anticipated rematch at 3:45 as the Mass Rivals take on the New England Playaz.  Round one went to the Rivals several months back at the Providence Jam Fest and the Playaz are sure to have retribution on their minds today. 

Two of New York’s most talented programs will look each other in the eye at 5 as New Heights takes on Upstate Elite. 

Tonight’s action at the Burt Kahn Court and Quinnipiac Recreation Center features a number of exciting match-ups including Connecticut Basketball Club vs. Raising Champions at 5, New Heights vs. New Jersey ABC at 7:30, Long Island Lightning Dingle u16 vs. New Jersey ABC at 8:45, Connecticut Select vs. NY Panthers u16 at 8:45.
