STM’s Bristol D1 Bound
Nearly two-and-a-half months after the prep school season came to an end, St. Thomas More continues to fill out their 2019 class with more scholarship commitments.
The latest of which was Wayne Bristol Jr., who announced his commitment to Howard University on Wednesday.
His commitment comes just a week after Howard announced Kenny Blakeney Jr. as their new head coach.
A Washington D.C. native who played at DeMatha Catholic and then Duke, Blakeney moved quickly to fill out his roster and offering Bristol a scholarship was one of his first moves. 48 hours after landing that offer, Bristol had committed.
The commitment brings Bristol back to his home region. Bristol grew up in the area after his father played for the University of Maryland in the 90's. He graduated from Riverdale Baptist in Upper Marlboro, Maryland last year and had played for Team Takeover Orange the summer prior.
Bristol brings good positional size on the wing at 6-foot-6 and shot-making ability to the Bison.
He becomes the 6th member of St. Thomas More's 2019 class to commit to a division I school.
