Stars of Tomorrow Camp Standouts: Wings/Forwards

While the HoopRootz Twitter Blogs provided recaps from last weekend's Stars of Tomorrow Camp in real time, this weekend we're taking a look back at the camp the old fashioned way. Here's a look at some of the wings and forwards that caught our eye:

Sam Custeau - Rumbling power forward brings a physical presence to the inner third of the floor; mixing it up in the paint and on the glass at both ends and going to work in both the offensive and defensive post. Consistently finished around the basket and grabbed boards throughout the weekend

Rhett Carter - Touted incoming freshman big-man drew attention from the get-go during stations on Sunday Morning before shutting it down prior to the first game-session of the day after turning a wheel.

Jack Carey - Rugged forward with a nice skill-set knocks down shots from the perimeter and gets to the basket with the dribble when a crease is there. Battles on the glass at both ends and runs the floor hard to get buckets in transition both on the trail and lane-fill.

Shane Feeney - Back-to-the-basket forward showed the ability to score the ball from the post while he also impressed distributing the basketball to open-teamates on the interior. Knocks down face-up shots from the high-post and will attack off the solo-bounce if the space is there.

Lucas Nathanson - Forward with size and length moves well on the interior and aggressively pursues opportunities to contend for a rebound or challenge or a shot. Holds potential in the front-court as he crafts his game abd develops his front-court skill-set.

Nick Redden - Stretch-4 with length and a nice motor knocks down shots from the mid-range off the catch and will get to the basket and finish off the one-dribble-drive from the high-post. Gets after it on the glass and runs the floor hard.

Benny Mandelbrot - High-IQ energy-forward with length is very active in the paint at both ends and finishes around the basket in variety of situations. Works hard on the glass and does a nce job of starting the break with a quick-outlet pass after securing a rebound or loose-ball.
Mario DiBenedetto - Rugged straight-line wing-guard with good back-court size scored the ball around the basket in a variety of situations at #STARS. Rebounds and makes his teammates better by playing within the flow of the offense. Nice potential as his skill-set rises.

Tyler Macari - Hard-nosed wing-guard plays with energy on bth sides of the ball and is a knock-down shooter with range who will get to the rack and finish off the bounce.

Nick Campanini - Lengthy wing-guard has a nice shooting-strole and moves well without the ball to get himself clean looks at the goal. Has a nice feel for the game and a lot of room left to improve as he gets stronger and plays more effectively through contact.

Chris Matthews - C/O 2018 guard uses his length to make plays in the open-floor on both sides of the ball. Looks to set up his teammates off the drive and will also take it all the way to the rack himself when the opening is there.

Alex Bzdel - High-energy wing-forward brings an active-physical presence to both ends of the floor and raises the level of his team's play with his intangibles. Competes on the glass, finishes around the basket, sets good screens off the ball.

Dante Timbas - C/O 2018 wing-forward utilizes a soft touch in the paint to score the basketball and will also knock down shots from the mid-range. Crashes the boards hard and challenges shots on the defensive-end.

Joseph Weinstein - C/O 2019 wing-guard looks to exploit open space off the bounce to create offense for himself or a teammate. Knocked down open-shots from the outside and consistently capitalized on scoring opportunities at #STARS.

Alex Bogolimov - Hole-plugging strong-bodied inside/outside wing was productive rebounding and finishing around the basket in a variety of situations at #STARS. Brings an upbeat attitude to the floor and works hard all over the court.

Shaun Abbate - Strong-physical guard plays an aggressive game out of the back-court; looking to attack in straight lines off the bounce to get to the basket and crashing down from the arc to hit the boards hard on both ends.

Albie Blodgett - Facilitative wing-guard has a nice feel for the game and raises the level of his teammate's play by operating within the flow of the offense. Knocks down open shots and will penetrate with the dribble to distribute.

Cole Zimmerman - Facilitative-wing knocks down open-shots from the outside and get the basketball to his teammates in spots where they can be effective. Strong team defender who rotates to help and closes out hard on shooters.

Ethan Money - Aggresive wing-guard gets after it defensively and on the glass while driving the ball strong off the solo bounce fom the arc before looking to finish off the window at the basket.

Jack Trimmer - Rugged wing scored the ball in transition and on the offensive glass while knocking down a number of shots from the mid-range and providing a physical defensive presence on the other side of the ball.

Sam Lombino - Strong complimentary player who uses his skills and understanding of the game to serve as a valuable asset to his squad. Moves without the ball and will knock down the open-shot while facilitating for his teamamtes on both sides of the ball.

Luke Jordan - Knocked down shots from the outside to space the floor for his teammates; good passer from the wing does of the keeping the ball moving on the perimeter.

Joseph Starr - Stingy wing-defender knocks down open shots and gets after it on the glass. Knocks down open shots and sneaks inside to finish around the basket in a variety of situations.
