Stankard Ivy Bound
Phillips Exeter Academy and Middlesex Magic rising senior Robbie Stankard made a verbal commitment to Columbia University on Wednesday night.
Stankard just completed his first season with both respective programs after previously starring at the Groton School and coming up the ranks with the Expressions program.
He announced his decision via his twitter account.
Extremely grateful to announce my commitment to Columbia University (pending admission)! It has always been my dream to play Division one basketball and I want to thank all of my coaches, friends and family who have believed in me and helped me get to this point! #GoLions pic.twitter.com/d6zVGJCA7d

Stankard started every game for Exeter this past season and was the team's second leading scorer. He is also the first member of both Exeter's and the Magic's 2021 class to make a college commitment.
"Robbie is an extremely versatile player who possesses the size, skill and IQ that I believe will allow him to make an immediate impact at Columbia," Magic director Michael Crotty Jr. said. "He is an excellent shooter who also attacks closeouts to get downhill. You can play through him at the wing or forward position because of his ability to see the floor and make plays for teammates. We are thrilled to have Robbie be the first member of the Middlesex Magic class of 2021 to commit to play in college."
