St. Andrew’s PG D1 Bound

St. Andrew's post-graduate point guard J.R. Lynch made a verbal commitment to the University of Hartford on Monday afternoon, Saints' head coach Michael Hart told the New England Recruiting Report.

Lynch arrived at St. Andrew's after previously starring at Hudson Catholic High School in New Jersey where he played alongside Pittsburgh big man Mike Young and Georgetown forward Reggie Cameron among others.

Often doubted because of his size - Lynch overcame the odds to make it to the division I level in large part because of his work-ethic and intangibles.

He's a true point guard - skilled, unselfish, and vocal - but it's his leadership skills, practice habits, motor, and coachability that make him so unique.

Lynch ran with the New York City based program New Heights during last spring and summmer's AAU period. He first pushed his recruitment to the division I levels during the month of April and only solidified his spot in the months following.
