South Kent’s Nelson Big East Bound

South Kent School guard Anthony Nelson announced his verbal commitment to Seton Hall on Monday night via his twitter account.

His decision was initially expected on Monday before prolonging the process another 24 hours but ultimately Seton Hall, the team that had been the rumored favorites all fall long, still ended up with his commitment.

Nelson is coming off a big EYBL season with the New York Lightning in which he averaged nearly 11 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals per night to lead the Lightning to their latest appearance at the EYBL Finals at the Peach Jam.

A smooth southpaw combo-guard with great positional size at 6-foot-4, Nelson is a versatile talent with the ball in his hands who can make plays for both himself and others while also offering a potential scoring threat in all three ranges.

He was named honorable mention All-New England in Class AAA in his first year in the NEPSAC and is currently the 8th ranked prospect in New England's 2018 class.

Below are some of his highlights from his first season at South Kent care of Brass City Films on YouTube.
