SCA’s Richards Makes Pick
Springfield Commonwealth big man Isaiah Richards announced his commitment to Louisiana on Thursday.
Richards is originally from Brooklyn and previously starred at South Shore High School alongside his SCA teammate Femi Odukale and Brewster Academy's Kadary Richmond, forming one of the top teams in the greater New York City area.
He played his grassroots basketball with Team New England in 2018 before they merged with the Mass Rivals for the 2019 season.
Richards initially committed to Florida International as a member of the 2019 class before opting for a post-graduate year. He averaged nearly 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game this season for an SCA squad that finished 30-7, won the Power 5 Conference, and earned an invitational to the National Prep Championship. Simultaneously, Richards pushed his recruitment to new levels with offers from UTEP, Rhode Island, and VCU among others.
The athletic big man is known for his ability to change ends, protect the rim, and finish high above-it.
He is the third SCA product in the class of 2020 to commit to the D1 level. Below is his announcment via social media.
