Rutland’s Evans D2 Bound
Rutland High School's Jamison Evans will have a much warmer winter next year.
The senior guard announecd his commitment to Lynn University earlier this week. Lynn is a division II school in Boca Raton, Florida that competes in the Sunshine State Conference. They have a proud basketball tradition and are currently ranked within the top 15 D2 programs in the country.
Evans has had a storied high school career at Rutland where he has been a part of back-to-back Vermont state championships. He had a breakout junior year as he put up 18 points per game and was named First-Team All-Stare by the Burlington Free Press. This year, as the team's only returning starter, he's taken his game to even higher levels and is currently averaging 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists per game while also being on pace to score the 1,000th point of his career before the end of the season.
Evans is a big guard and solid athlete who can make perimeter shtos and defend multiple positions. He is the top ranked prospect in the Vermont Principal's Association and fifth overall in the state.
He is also the latest alum of last June's Elite 75 College Showcase to accept an athletic scholarship.
