Romich Earns Scholarship
Vermont Academy post-graduate Ryan Romich made a verbal commitment to Le Moyne College earlier this week.
Located in Syracuse, New York the division II school plays a busy local schedule by competing in the Northeast 10 Conference.
Prior to arriving at Vermont Academy Romich previously starred for Groton-Dunstable High School. Romich's senior season was a special one as he shared the court with his younger brother and led his team to the division II Central Massachusetts championship.
Romich was the first player to commit to new Vermont Academy head coach Jesse Bopp last spring and helped guide the team to one of the biggest turnarounds in the NEPSAC this year, as they went 17-14 to qualify for the class AA tournament and defeated teams like St. Andrew's, Wilbraham & Monson, and Brimmer & May in the process.
"I couldn't be happier for Ryan. He has earned everything he has become as a player through his work ethic and dedication to the game," Bopp said. "He will be a great college player and teammate."
The six-foot-six forward had similar success on the AAU circuit where he ran with the Expressions Elite program.
Romich is an athletic and active forward known for his tremendously high motor. He has a rapidly expanding perimeter skills that should make him a true mismatch problem at the next level.
