RMU Gets a Steal in Cheeks
Robert Morris came into New England and scored a steal earlier this week with a commitment from Expressions Elite and Springfield Commonwealth guard Enoch Cheeks.
The Rhode Island native began his high school career at Mount Pleasant High School but started to take his game to new levels upon reaching Kimball Union Academy as a reclassified sophomore.
Always known for his athleticism and the competitiveness which often manifested itself with the chip on his shoulder, Cheeks began to expand his offensive repetoire at KUA and develop his skill set. He continued to add to his game within the last year as his ability to defend the basketball became increasingly apparent during the recent EYBL season.
While Cheeks had previously landed offers as high as the Pac-12 and A10, he came into his post-graduate season surprisingly under-recruited. Robert Morris head coach Andy Toole and assistant coach Mike Iuzzolino recognized that opportunity and made an immediate push. Their efforts paid off as Cheeks made a verbal commitment shortly following his official visit.
