Rivers Forward Makes Decision

Rivers School senior forward Matt Prokop is heading to Assumption College next year after accepting a spot on the roster as a preferred walk-on, according to Rivers head coach Andrew Mirken.

The six-foot-five forward is a two time All-ISL and All New England Class B honoree and averaged 13 points and 9 rebounds this season to help Rivers win their first ISL title in the last 23 years.

Prokop is a good rebounder and perimeter shooter who hopes to contend for minutes along Assumption’s frontline.

He is one of three Rivers seniors who will continue their career at the college level, joining Carlin Haymon (Brandeis) and Andrew Kaufmann (Swarthmore).
