Introducing Terence Crowley

Even for the most talented international prospects, the transition to the American game is rarely an easy one. It's a process that requires adjusting to new levels of speed, physicality, different styles of play, and even officiating.

However, when the talent is there, sometimes it's just a matter of time before those prospects start putting it all together.

And that could very likely be the case for incoming Cheshire Academy post-graduate Terence Crowley, who just completed his first two seasons in the U.S. at IMG Academy, reportedly made great strides throughout the course of those seasons, and has a rare combination of physical tools and skill.

Here's all you need to know.

Prospect Profile

Height/Weight: 6'3" & 170lbs
Wingspan: 6'7"
Academics: 3.1 GPA & 1090 SAT
School: IMG Academy '20 (FL); Cheshire Academy '21 *post-grad*

Personal Statement

I was raised in Russia and in the Republic of Georgia playing club basketball and therefore I am well grounded in European fundamentals.  Playing under FIBA rules helped me develop my deep range and improve my basketballI IQ.

The past two years the competition and coaching at IMG Academy helped me get used to the transition game where I can use my length and athleticism both to disrupt the passing lane on defense  and finish at the rim at the offensive end.

I am looking forward to my postgraduate year at Cheshire Academy to mature physically and to continue to prepare for the academic challenge ahead in college.

Recommendations

"Terence is a bouncy above the rim shooter with a quick release.  High level shot maker in the half court with great physical upside.  Creative scorer off the dribble who is great at drawing fouls with his sneaky game."
- Dan Barto, Coach, IMG Academy

"Terence checks a lot of boxes as a college prospect.  He can really shoot, can finish above the rim, knows how to play and has good size for his position.  His international experience is reflected in his skill level and understanding of the game.  It's a great combination for him to have that experience, while also competing against high level US competition at IMG and in NEPSAC."
- Jim McCarthy, Head Coach, Cheshire Academy

Scout's Take

Crowley is a very easy prospect to get excited about on tape. He is well-built, has the athleticism to play above the rim with ease, a good shooting stroke from behind the three-point line, and just the type of quick and high release to get his shot off without much separation. He also seems to have a high I.Q for the game and is equally skilled off the bounce as well. According to all reports, he's a prospect that should attract scholarship level interest in the coming year.
