Reebok Hands Down Invitations from NEHF
Reebok’s grassroots basketball staff was scouring the sidelines six weeks ago at the Northeast Hoops Festival, one of six tournaments around the country to be part of Reebok’s Showdown Series.
As a result, five players from the tournament field have been invited to attend the Reebok Breakout Challenge, the brand’s national exposure camp modeled after NBA star and former top draft pick John Wall of the Washington Wizards.
Coming out of the Northeast Hoops Festival, Reebok handed down invitations to Jared Terrell, Abdul-Malik Abu, Samuel Dingba, Paschal Chukwu, and Kyle Williams
Terrell and Abu starred together on Expressions Elite, who played up in the u17 division that weekend in order to prepare for the Under Armour Hoop Group Pittsburgh Jam Fest. The decision proved to be well worth it, as Expressions made a run to the tournament semifinals a week later as Terrell and Abu both continued to attract a steady diet of high-major attentoin.
The Northeast Hoops Festival was just the start of what has turned out to be a terrific spring for Samuel Dingba as he continues to run with the Westchester Hawks. The Salisbury forward has seen his recruitment grow to a higher level in that time as his phenomenal defensive ability, in addition to some enhanced offensive production, continues to intrigue college coaches.
Paschal Chukwu was making his debut with the Connecticut Basketball Club at the Northeast Hoops Festival, and he’s another one guy whose good showing that weekend was just a sign of things to come. CBC has made good runs in Middletown and Providence since while Chukwu also led the team to a Connecticut AAU state championship last weekend.
Finally, Kyle Williams is a six-foot-ten big man who made the trip to New England with his Team Underrated squad last month. A mountain of a young man with very obvious potential, Williams is already attracting interest from a wide range of high level college coaches and is the type of guy who could easily attract a big following this summer.
