Recruiting Periods Tips Thursday
The NCAA division I recruiting period begins on Thursday, meaning that D1 college coaches can visit perspective student-athletes.
That means it is the start of "open gym season" where college coaches visit high schools and prep schools across the country to watch teams in pre-season action or informal workouts.
Of course, because many state associations prevent their high school programs from holding any organized open gym out of season, the fall recruiting period tends to be a time of high traffic for prep schools but less so for local high schools.
Virtually all of the regions top prep schools are expected to host college coaches in the coming days.
