PSA’s Pride is Bryant Bound
Putnam Science Academy and New York Jayhawks guard Charles Pride made a verbal commitment to Bryant University and first year head coach Jared Grasso on Friday.
His decision came on the heels of his official visit earlier this week.
Pride has had a breakout year dating back to his senior season at Liverpool High School where he led the team to a New York state championship. He followed that up with a terrific showing in the Adidas Gauntlet as he rated as one of the most efficient players on the entire circuit.
His recruitment has gone to new levels altogether since his prep season began though as he’s consistently differentiated himself with his tenacity, toughness, and motor. Simply put, he’s been the hardest working guy on the floor virtually every time he’s stepped foot on it.
Pride took three official visits in September but opted to begin the season rather than sign early. Since then, he's continued to add more offers including one in the Atlantic 10.
Aside from his massive intangibles Pride also projects as a versatile player, capable of playing and defending multiple positions, at the next level.
Pride joins Michael Green III, a 5-foot-10 guard from Mount St. Michael in the Bronx, in Bryant’s 2019 recruiting class.
