PSA takes top spot in Prep Power Rankings
There is a new number one in the Prep Power Rankings following a big week of prep school basketball in New England and beyond.
A short-handed NMH team fell in dramatic fashion to South Kent on Sunday while Putnam Science forced overtime with an offensive putback to beat the buzzer before a game winning three-pointer over Brewster in the extra session. Those three possesions ultimately flipped the top of the prep rankings as Putnam Science took over the top spot while Northfield Mount Hermon slipped to number two.
Mount Zion is 4-0 since the holiday break and now 18-2 overall, which has them up to number three overall in the country while Montverde CBD is similarly unbeatean this month at 5-0 and 16-2 overall. Fork Union dropped a game to Combine Academy last week but remains in the top five.
Hargrave Military Academy remains at number six while Wilbraham and Monson is still unbeaten and now up to number seven. Brewster Academy is now putting the pieces together and up to number eight as a result while Link Year Prep and Sunrise Christian round out the top ten. Scotland Campus split games with Springfield Commonwealth last week while Cushing Academy was on pause. South Kent is cracking the list after scoring wins over Bridgton, St. Thomas More, and NMH.
