O’Shea Makes Pick
Hotchkiss post-graduate guard Brendan OShea made a verbal commitment to Rochester earlier this week, pending acceptance of his early decision application.
The Vermont native previously starred at St. Johnsbury, where he played under his father and longtime St. Michael's head coach Tom O'Shea, on one of the top teams in the Green Mountain State.
O'Shea, who is also the nephew of Bryant head coach Tim O'Shea, finished his high school career ranked among the top three players in his home state.
He's spent time on the AAU circuit with both the Lone Wolf Athletics and Middlesex Magic programs but further distinguished himself this summer with strong showings at the Elite 75 College Showcase and the All-Academic Camp.
He promises to be a big part of Hotchkiss' team this winter as he steps in to replace four year starter Makai Mason, who is now in his freshman season at Yale.
A true point guard with a high basketball I.Q. and good skill set, O'Shea is both a high level shot-maker from the perimeter as well as a dependable ball-handler and decision maker.
