Odom Receives USAB Invite
Beaver Country Day incoming freshman Shy Odom has been invited to the USA Basketball Junior National Team Minicamp from October 4th-7th at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The minicamp is the first part of the expanded Junior National Team Program, which was recently announced in conjunction with the NBA, NBA Players' Association, and NCAA. The program will include a year-round life skills initiative, health and wellness support and additional Junior National Team Minicamps, all of which Odom will now be invited to as well.
This is USA Basketball's 10th October mini-camp and the largest one yet as the field has now expanded to include 80 players from around the country. Typically, selected players also correlate to the upcoming games for the following summer. In 2019 USA Basketball will compete in the Nike Hoop Summit, FIBA Americas u16 Championship, and FIBA u19 World Cup.
Odom is a product of the Boston Bobcats grassroots program who has had a decorated career through the middle school ranks and recently participated in the CP3 Camp in North Carolina. He is widely presumed to be the top incoming freshman in New England this year.
Below are some of his highlights from the CP3 Camp.
