Nurse is second NHS product to earn a scholarship this week
New Hampton School and The House We Built guard/forward Jabari Nurse announced his commitment this week to Pace, a Division II school in New York.
Nurse came to New Hampton this year following a standout career at Lexington Christian Academy. He was named a 2020 All-NEPSAC Class C selection.
He made a solid transition to the highest level of NEPSAC competition. Nurse was selected as a 2022 All-NEPSAC Class AAA Honorable Mention selection. He played in the EYBL last year with Expressions Elite and joined The House We Built this spring as an unsigned senior.
“Jabari is a hard worker who will continue to improve because of what he puts into the game,” said New Hampton head coach Andrew Gale. “He’s a versatile player on both ends of the floor. On offense he is a distributor and slasher that can create for himself or others."
Nurse stuff all columns of the stat sheet for New Hampton this year averaging 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists per game.
“Defensively, he competes and wants to guard the best player. He is strong and able to guard multiple positions on the floor. He will make an immediate impact because of his competitiveness, work ethic, and athleticism.”
"This is a great get for Pace," said NERR founder and new director of scouting for 247 Sports. "Nurse is a clear D1 talent in my opinion and I would expect him to be able to make an immediate impact in the NE-10."
Nurse is the second member of New Hampton's 2022 class to accept a full athletic scholarship within the last week and third overall in the class.
