Nugent, Davis commit to Le Moyne
Le Moyne College, a D2 school in Syracuse that competes in the Northeast 10 Conference, came into New England to land a pair of commitments this week.
The first came from New Hampton's Christian Davis, a late-blooming post-grad guard who was instrumental to the Huskies' AAA championship this season with his heady floor game and three-point shooting.
Le Moyne offered Davis in late March following his performance in the NEPSAC tournament.
Berwick Academy senior Declean Nugent was next. The 6-foot-5 forward was flying slightly under-the-radar through the season but was profiled in the NERR-TV Unsigned Senior Virtual Showcase last month, which brought his recruitment to the D2 level.
Nugent averaged 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game this year for Berwick and played his grassroots basketball for the New England Storm.
"The most intriguing aspect of Declan's game is that he has the frame to play at the next level as a versatile wing, both inside and out. He's strong enough to battle inside as he's 6'5" and developing physically at 190 lbs," Storm director Jaryd Piecuch told NERR.
