Notre Dame Prep forward is D1 bound
For as much as Notre Dame Prep may have changed in the last year what remains the same is that head coach Ryan Hurd continues to churn out scholarship players.
The latest is post-graduate forward Gabe Merete who announced his commitment to Florida Atlantic late Monday night.

Merete is a Florida native who will both be realizing his division I dream while also returning back closer to home to do it.
The 6-foot-7 forward initially committed to Navy last year as a high school senior and was set to spend a year at Navy Prep before transitioning to the Patriot League for the 2018-19 season. He opted to join Notre Dame Prep instead in early October and went on to earn a wide range of division I interest ranging as high as the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Merete is a long and athletic forward with a wiry build who projects as being versatile on both ends of the floor and has made definite enhancements to his offensive game over the course of the last season.
"Gabe has made it clear from the beginning that he wasn't willing to sacrifice academics just to play college basketball," Notre Dame Prep head coach Ryan Hurd said. "I'm excited that he's found a place where both of his passions will be testted. He's a great kid and he'll embrace the challenge of being a factor at the division I level."
