Notre Dame Offers Knight
Thomas Knight’s recruiting stock has rapidly grown since the AAU season began. When the April live period began, most considered him a probable low major player with Ivy, Patriot, and America East schools showing the most interest.
But in April he began to generate some buzz as he demonstrated an improved body, level of conditioning, and overall impact on both ends of the floor. That in addition to his combination of size and skill level was enough for a variety of mid-major schools to show interest.
But fast forward a few months and Knight could now be earning the prestigious “high-major” tag as Notre Dame has extended a scholarship offer to the talented forward according to Justin Young from the rivals network.
Since the first offer is typically the toughest one to get, it may not be long before schools like Providence, Michigan, Seton Hall, TCU, and SMU (all schools that have previously shown interest) follow suit.
As successful as Knight’s trip to Orlando has been thus far, he hit a bit of a road block on Tuesday as he and his MBR team ran into Alex Oriakhi and BABC. By all accounts, Oriiakhi won the individual match-up holding Knight to 8 points and 6 rebounds.
This was the third time Oriakhi and Knight saw each other this year in a BABC and MBR match-up. If Knight decides to accept Notre Dame’s offer, the next time they run into each other could be in the Big East.

Dave Telep from the scout.com was also singing Knight’s praises on Tuesday. Telep also liked what he saw from Oriakhi, Phil Pressey, and Steven Samuels. To view his article visit www.scouthoops.com.
