New Hampton Forward Ivy Bound
New Hampton School post-graduate forward Max Rothschild made a verbal commitment to Penn last night after receiving his likely letter from the University’s admissions office.
Rothschild came to New Hampton from the Chicago area and has worked his way into the team’s starting line-up and become a key contributor for the Huskies this season.
A rugged and hard-nosed four-man, Rothschild was well known for his high motor upon arriving in New England this fall but has proven himself to be a more skilled ball-handler and passer than most anticipated.
Now, he joins John Crosby (Dayton), Jeremy Miller (Northeastern), A.J. Turner (Boston College) and Tyler Lydon to become the fifth New Hampton product to commit to a division I program this season as well as the second Husky to commit to the Quakers in as many years following Mike Auguer’s pledge from a year ago.
Penn now holds four different commitments from the New England prep school ranks in the 2015 class. They landed the NMH duo of Collin McManus and Jackson Donahue this summer and followed that up with a pledge from Cheshire Academy guard Tyler Hamilton earlier this season.
