Connecticut

Player of the Week – Tevin Baskin, Trinity Catholic High School
Baskin had 33 points & 23 rebounds in a win over St. Joe’s on Friday.  Then on Wednesday, in a match-up of the FCIAC’s two unbeaten teams, he again dominated with 35 points and 12 rebounds as Trinity Catholic defeated Bridgeport Central 74-65.

•  Jakarri McCallop, East Hartford, 23 points and 22 rebounds vs. Windsor
•  Steven Samuels & Tyrus Weaver, Windsor, 17 points, 13 assists, 6 rebounds, & 5 steals for Samuels while Weaver scored 10 points in the final 5 minutes of the game to finish with 21 in a 76-68 win over East Hartford
•  Eric Katenda, Cheshire Academy, 23 points & 13 rebounds vs. Salisbury
•  Jason Pancoe, Salisbury, 25 points in 69-59 win over Cheshire Academy for 8th straight win
•  Chris Evans, Stamford, 35 points, 8 rebounds, & 7 assists in win over Trumbull
•  Alvin Durrett, Putnam Science 33 points against Pomfret
•  Tyler Burkhart, Cromwell, 32 points including 10 three-pointers in 81-45 win over H-K
•  Jerome Harris, East Catholic, 35 points in a 62-52 win over RHAM
•  Brian Salzillo, North Haven, 30 points, 7 threes, 5 rebounds, & 4 assists against Hamden.  20 points (16 in 4th quarter), 4 rebounds, & 3 assists in win over Fairfield Prep
•  Gerald McClease, Wilbur Cross, career high 28 points in 81-78 OT win over West Haven

Vermont

Player of the Week – Joe OShea
O’Shea scored 23 points on 8-13 shooting from the floor, including 4-6 from behind the three-point line.  O’Shea also contributed 4 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals.  Heading into Friday night’s division I final with Rice, Burlington is now 22-0 on the season. 

•  Logan White, Hartford, scored 23 points but it wasn’t enough to stop Burlington in quarter-finals
•  Cedric White & Troy Davine, Rutland, 21 & 20 points respectively in quarter-final win over Essex 61-51
•  Grant White, Springfield, 22 points in 63-33 quarter-final win over Mt. Abraham & 34 points in semi-final win over Mill River
•  Travis Godfrey & Jason Gray, Thetford, 23 & 22 respectively in 70-50 win over Enosburg in quarter-finals
•  Matt Chamberlin, Danville, 22 points & 13 rebounds in d4 quarter-final win over Chelsea
•  Jim Welch, Chelsea, 31 points in loss to Danville
•  John Donnelly, CVU, led all scorers with 20 points along with 12 rebounds in quarter-final loss to Rice
•  Connor Merrill, Vergennes, 23 points in 75-60 win over Hardwood in d4 quarters
•  Josh Varney, South Burlington, 26 points for the soph in 73-56 tournament win over Spaulding
•  Demir Smajovic, Essex, 23 points against Rutland & 22 points in 88-50 win over Brattleboro Union
•  Ryan Poirier, CVU, 23 points including 7 three-pointers in 91-49 win over North Country

Massachusetts

Player of the Week – Spencer Braithwaite, Madison Park High School
The junior guard scored 39 points in the Boston City League Championship game to lead Madison Park to a 69-65 victory over O’Bryant.  Braithwaite was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. 

•  Ike Azotam, O’Bryant, 16 points and 20 rebounds vs. Madison Park
•  Adam Marshall & Wes Clark, Governors, Marshall had a triple double of 14 points (including the 1000th of his career), 15 rebounds, and 10 blocked shots while Clark had 13 points and 10 assists in win over St. Paul’s
•  Allen Harris, Catholic Memorial, 25 points & 8 rebounds in win over O’Bryant
•  Rodney Beldo, Scituate, 27 points & 8 assists in 80-59 win over Hopkinton
•  David Campbell, Madison Park, 30 points & 16 rebounds in win over Newton South
•  Aaron Davis, Marshfield, 29 points & four threes in 73-68 win over Brookfield
•  Yves Jules, Winchendon, 24 points despite battling illness in 76-73 win over NMH
•  Jordan Henriquez, Winchendon, blocked 11 shots and scored 10 points vs. Brewster
•  Scott Anderson, Middlesex, 25 points & 13 rebounds over Belmont Hill, 23 points & 7 rebounds vs. Brooks

New Hampshire

Players of the Week – Jamal Coombs-McDaniel, Gerard Coleman, and Alex Oriakhi, Tilton School
Tilton has scored four consecutive big wins, likely clinching a spot in the National Prep Championship to be held at the end of the season.  In the last ten days Tilton has defeated New Hampton, Lawrence Academy on the road, Brewster Academy, and Proctor Academy.  Coombs-McDaniel had 20 points & 11 rebounds at Lawrence and 26 & 12 vs. Brewster.  Coleman had 16 vs. Lawrence, 19 points and 6 assists vs. Brewster, and 20 points & 4 rebounds vs. Proctor.  Oriakhi had 13 points & 13 rebounds at Lawrence, 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks vs. Brewster, and 15 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 3 assists vs. Proctor. 

•  Reggie Moore, Brewster Academy, 27 points against Tilton and 26 vs. Bridgton including 5 threes
•  Scott St. Lawrence & Sean McClung, Bishop Guertin, 23 & 19 respectively in win over Pinkerton, 19 & 21 in win over Manchester Memorial
•  Dan Feehan, Nashua South, 21 points, 13 in the third quarter, against Salem
•  D.J. Purcell, Alvirne, 22 points & 3 three-pointers in 70-54 win over Concord
•  Jasmin Handanovic, Milford, 27 points in 79-54 win over Con-Val.  Had 21 points & 16 rebounds on Friday against Monadnock
•  Damon Bell-Holter, New Hampton, 24 points vs. South Kent
•  Joe Elich, Souhegan, 29 points & 4 three-pointers in 62-42 win over Bishop Brady
•  Jake Nelson, Nashua South, 20 points in 51-47 win over Keene
•  Alex LaRosa, Salem, 25 points in 78-62 win over Nashua South
•  John Mulvey, Portsmouth, 21 points in 62-32 win over Kennett

Maine

Player of the Week – Thomas Knight, Dirigo High School
The senior big man scored 28 points for the second consecutive game to help Dirigo capture the Western Class C Championship.  Knight also contributed 12 rebounds and 4 blocked shots in the 64-44 win over Wiscasset. 

•  James Morse, Thornton Academy, scored a game high 17 points (including 9 of 10 from the FT line in the 4th quarter) in Western A Championship
•  Alex Bowe, Cape Elizabeth, 24 points in 58-48 win over Falmouth in Western B Championship
•  Andrew Dickey, Cape Elizabeth, caught a full length of the court pass and scored at the buzzer to win the Western B Championship
•  Duane Smith, Bridgton Academy, had 6 three-pointers and a game high 32 points in 85-79 victor at Brewster
•  James Philbrook, Edward Little, 18 points & 11 rebounds in class
•  Josh Sonia, Wiscasset, had 21 points and 5 three-pointers in loss to Dirigo

Rhode Island

Player of the Week – Billy Baron, Bishop Hendricken High School
On senior night Baron went for a game high 36 points, including 23 after half-time, as Bishop Hendrick defeated Cranston East 77-74 to capture the Division I West regular season championship.  Baron also iced the game at the free-throw line knocking down a pair with 5 seconds left in overtime to push the lead to 3.  Earlier in the week, Baron scored 25 in 78-45 win over Smithfield.

•  Jay Jeanotte, Narragansett, 27 points in 62-55 win over West Warwick
•  Malcolm Moniz, Shea, game high 26 points in 81-49 win over Toll Gate
•  Rob Alers, Central Falls, 19 points & 11 assists over Mt. St. Charles for d3 regular season title
•  John Wish, Westerly, 26 points & 7 threes in 62-54 win over East Greenwich
•  Luke Martin, Moses Brown, triple double of 17 points, 11 assists, & 10 steals over Juanita Sanchez
•  Ricardo Ledo, Bishop Hendricken, 20 points, 12 rebounds, & 9 assists over Cranston West
