New England Top 100 Announced

After updating rankings in all six New England states last week, today comes the reveal of our New England top 100 in the class of 2018.

The list mirrors ESPN's national rankings in the first nine spots with Simisola Shittu, Cole Swider, David Duke, A.J. Reeves, Nate Laszewski, Cormac Ryan, Isaiah Mucius, Miles Norris, and Marcus Zegarowski. Derek Culver rounds out the top ten and remains a strong candidate to crack the top 100 national lists before the season's end.

In total the first 18 ranked prospects are all already committed with high-majors like the previously mentioned ten as well as outright steals like Dalano Banton (Western Kentucky), Malachi deSousa (Albany), and Ethan Wright (Princeton). More than half of the list is still on the board though, providing a plethora of late value within New England's borders to college coaches from all levels.

In total, we've expanded our rankings to 100, not because the specific order of the list is concrete but in order to include as many players as possible. Even at that, there are still more scholarship prospects to be found in New England as our collective depth remains our best asset. With a list this big, there is all kinds of room for debate and to that end later this week we'll publish another unique list, this one courtesy of Mike Yagmin who will offer his own unique big board, ultimately illustrating that rankings are subjective and just a matter of opinion. Our goal is to continue to provide rankings that are representative of where players can and should expect to be recruited at for the next level, which often comes in stark contrast to a high school stat sheet.

It's also important to note that while we've now included first year prep products, there are a select few who remain off the list, either because they were a late arrival this winter or because they were hurt to start the year, and consequently haven't been adequately evaluated yet.
