NERR Announces 2018 Grassroots Event Schedule
The New England Recruiting Report has announced their 2018 grassroots event schedule with the return of three of the biggest events in the northeast region.
The Northeast Hoops Festival will return to Hanover, Massachusetts and the surrounding south shore and metrowest areas for the east coast's premier live period tune-up. Held on April 14th & 15th, the Northeast Hoops Festival takes place on the final weekend prior to the NCAA recruiting period, which makes this an ideal tournament for teams looking to prepare for the live period while still receiving exposure to countless division II and III coaches as well as various scouting services. This event annually features the most talented field of any grassroots basketball event in New England.

The northeast region's best Memorial Day event will return to the state of Connecticut in 2018 as the Super 16 Showcase will again take place at Connecticut College and various facilities throughout the Connecticut shoreline area. The 2017 #S16 featured top national prospects including North Carolina commit Nassir Little among others and was also a launching pad for previously under-the-radar players like Jason Douglas-Stanley and Matt Balanc to make a name for themselves before going on to become mid-major recruits. Division III college coaches will be out in full force while the event will also be covered by the likes of ESPN, NERR, and numerous other media outlets and scouting services.
NERR's only "live" event for grassroots teams will once again take place in New York on the Wednesday and Thursday of the July evaluation period's second week. Falling on July 18th and 19th this year, the Big Apple Summer Showcase is an invite-only event that has established a niche of uniting the very best non-sponsored programs in the northeast, from the Middle-Atlantic region up through New England, and has attracted over 100 division I coaches in the process. There simply isn't a more intimate setting for teams or college coaches anywhere during the evaluation period. The 2017 field included the likes of Middlesex Magic, Jersey Force, DC Blue Devils, NJ Roadrunners, Metro Boston, York Ballers, WrightWay Skills, JB Hoops, PTT Elite, PK Flash, USAD, Mid-Atlantic Select, RYTES Warriors, Raising Champions, and Crown Basketball along with PSA Cardinals, CBC, The Firm, and New York Rens among others.
