NEPSAC Brackets Released
The New England Prep School Athletic Council released their post-season brackets on Sunday.
All six classes will begin their playoff schedule this Wednesday with quarterfinal action followed by semifinals on Saturday.
Endicott College will once again host a championship triple header on Sunday with Class A tipping at 1pm followed by Class AA at 3pm and Class AAA at 5pm. Classes B, C, and D will have a championship triple header of their own at Worcester Academy beginning at 11:30a.m.
Brewster Academy is the top seed in Class AAA and so they will receive an automatic bye, along with second seeded St. Thomas More, to Saturday’s semifinal. The Bobcats will play the winner of Northfield Mount Hermon and South Kent, while the Chancellors will face the winner of New Hampton and Bridgton Academy.
St. Andrew’s is the top seed in Class AA and they’ll open with a quarterfinal match-up against Worcester Academy in a flipped rematch of last year’s opening round game in which the Saints upset the top seed. Should St. Andrew’s advance they could be in store for another rematch as the defending champions, Cushing Academy, take on Tilton in the 4/5 game.
Second seeded Wilbraham & Monson headlines the second side of the bracket as they open up against a hot Marianapolis Prep team. The winner will face whoever survives a match-up of two local rivals as Kimball Union Academy meets Vermont Academy in the 3/6 game.
In Class A the top seeded Choate Rosemary Hall opens with BB&N team while the defending champions, Phillips Exeter Academy, opens with Tabor Academy in a loaded 4/5 game. Second seeded Trinity Pawling takes on Milton Academy while third seeded Hotchkiss takes on Andover on the bottom half of the bracket.
Beaver Country Day earned the top seed in Class B and will open up against the Middlesex School before potentially playing the winner of Hoosac vs. Brooks. Second seeded Cheshire Academy drew St. Mark’s on the bottom half of the bracket while third seeded Rivers will meet the defending champions, Suffield Academy.
Greens Farms Academy drew the top seed in Class C while New York Military Academy holds that distinction in Class D.
