NDPs Baltimore Duo Comes off Board
Notre Dame Prep has seen two prospects come off the board in the last few days, both of whom are products of the greater Baltimore region.
Jamel Artis, who starred for Nike Baltimore Elite on the AAU and EYBL circuits, made a verbal commitment to Pittsburgh over the weekend. The Panthers had been actively recruiting Artis all season long, and at last month’s National Prep Championship he stated that they were atop his list.
Artis is a wide-bodied six-foot-six forward with an extremely versatile skill set. He has a smooth release from the three-point line, is adept at scoring over smaller defenders in the mid-range area, and also likes to operate at the low to mid posts.
He’ll need to continue to hone his conditioning and learn when to utilize each of his weapons in order to be most efficient, but when he does, he should be a productive player for Pittsburgh.
Aaron Parks, another DMV product, is a six-foot-three swingman who arrived at Notre Dame Prep this season after previously putting up big numbers at Lake Clifton High School.
A product of the Cecil Kirk AAU program, Parks quickly developed a reputation for being one of Notre Dame Prep’s toughest and hardest working players this season.
He’s headed to Cal State Northridge where he’ll play for former NBA player and coach Reggie Theus, who was recently named the school’s new head coach.
