NBA Draft Preview
The 2015 NBA Draft takes place Thursday night in New York and as usual NERR has a full preview, New England style.
While this year's draft doesn't have quite the same local flavor as some previous years, neither in the lottery or with the overall depth of potential New England products hoping to hear their name called, there are still a few familiar faces that could come across the T.V.
The first is Massachusetts native Pat Connaughton, who previously starred at St. John's Prep and with the Middlesex Magic, prior to his career at Notre Dame, which culminated with an ACC championship and run to the Elite Eight this past March. Widely considered to be a second round pick, there's been a growing buzz near the end of the first round where programs like San Antonio and Golden State have reportedly shown late interest.
Former Salisbury and Brewster Academy forward Chris McCullough, who starred with the PSA Cardinals (then called Team Scan) on the AAU circuit, is another player with a chance to hear his name called late in the first round while former New Hampton and Boston College guard Olivier Hanlan is on plenty of draft boards as well after his succesful three year career at the ACC.
CoxHub recently profiled all three local prospects, tracking their roots and weighing their potential for the NBA, while local products have also been included in recent mock drafts including one from ESPN's Recruiting Nation as well as Jeff Goodman.
