Munda Commits, then Changes Mind
Farleigh Dickinson University scored a commitment from Notre Dame Prep swingman Donnele Munda earlier this weekend, only to have Munda re-open his recruitment roughly 72 hours later.
Munda is a Canadian native who first arrived in New England last season at Vermont Academy, emerging as a highly pursued mid-major prospect with wide ranging recruitment and scholarship offers ranging from the MAAC on down.
The six-foot-four swingman transferred to Notre Dame Prep for his final season of eligibility and rededicated himself to his conditioning prior to arriving in Fitchburg this fall. The result was the same lethal shot-maker we saw throughout last season but a quicker and more athletic version.
FDU features a number of former New England prep products on their roster and Knights’ head coach Greg Vetrone and his staff have been much more visible patrolling the local circuit in recent months, obviously looking to increase their presence in the New England region.
This year’s FDU team will be led by another former Notre Dame Prep swingman in Melquan Bolding along with former MCI guard Lonnie Hayes. The senior tandem will be complimented by junior guard Yves Jules, who spent a post-graduate year at the Winchendon School.
