Mulready Chooses Providence
2024 Worcester Academy and Albany City Rocks wing Kayvaun Mulready announced his commitment yesterday afternoon to Providence.
Mulready was at Worcester as a freshman. He earned a spot on the Varsity team which won 20 games that year.
Unfortunately like many others, his 2020-21 season was cut short by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Big things were in store for the following year though.
Mulready was a starter on a team that won the 2022 NEPSAC Class AA Championship and finished with a 23-7 record. His standout play also earned him All-NEPSAC Recognition.
He had an impressive 2022 season on the Nike EYBL circuit for Albany City Rocks. Mulready averaged 11.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3 assists per Synergy Sports, helping his team make it to the Peach Jam Elite Eight.
“Kayvaun’s growth since his arrival on campus has been awesome to see,” said Worcester assistant coach Dan Sullivan. “A true student-athlete, Kay’s GPA has improved every year. He accomplished that through hard work and time management skills, truly embracing the tools that boarding schools have to offer.”
“On the court, he is a relentless competitor who pushes his teammates and will do the dirty work in order to win. His three-point shooting has gotten better and he will prove to be a versatile offensive and defensive piece upon arrival in the Big East for Coach Cooley.”
Mulready becomes the fifth member of Worcester’s current team who has committed to play division one college basketball.
