Mobley Prepping at Exeter
One of the top players in the MIAA this season will spend a year in the prep ranks before making his college decision.
Tommy Mobley, who had terrific career at Newton North punctuated by a huge senior season, will do a post-graduate year at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire.
On Tuesday, the six-foot-three shooting guard was named to the Boston Herald's Dream Team.
Mobley finished with 1604 career points, second most in Newton North's storied history, while knocking down 309 three-pointers and shooting 88% from the free-throw line. He was named MVP of the Bay State Conference for three straight seasons and led the Tigers to three straight appearances in the Division I South semifinals during that time. This year, he averaged 22.6 points per game along with 6 rebounds and 3 assists and was also named Second Team All-State by ESPN Boston.
Mobley is one of five newcomers set to join Exeter next season, along with other local products Jack Alberding (Needham, MA) and Bryce Daley (Pittsfield, MA), as was announced by head coach Jay Tilton on Monday night.
