Melvin Picks DePaul

Notre Dame forward Cleveland Melvin made a verbal commitment to DePaul on Monday.

Melvin committed to UConn in December but re-opened his recruitment in March and had recently visited Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Marshall.

Ultimately, it appears that Melvin selected DePaul over Rutgers.

Melvin is one of the most athletic forwards in the entire country.  With terrific speed and exceptionally bouncy athleticism, Melvin is a phenominal finisher in the open floor and ideally suited to play for a fast paced team.

The Notre Dame product cited a number of reasons for his decision including the opportunity for immediate playing time, the school's education program, the allure of the city of Chicago, and his impression of first year head coach Oliver Purnell who recently came from Clemson.
