McKeithan Makes Early Call
Windsor High School and NE6 2020 guard Corey McKeithan made an early verbal commitment to Rider University on Friday evening.
McKeithan is an undersized scoring guard who was a virtual unknown at this time last year but had a breakout sophomore campaign in the CIAC for the Warriors and followed that up with a similarly impressive spring and summer for NE6.
A pure scorer and potent shot-maker who can get hot in a hurry, score in bunches, and at all three levels, McKeithan has drawn comparisons to another undersized scoring guard from the greater Hartford area in Kahlil Dukes, who also went on the star in the MAAC at Niagara University.
Niagara was actually one of three division I schools to offer McKeithan this spring and summer but ultimately it was Rider, and specifically assistant coach Marlon Guild, that was able to get the guard to bring his recruitment to an early end.
McKeithan was named to the Super 16 All-Tournament team in May and attended the Rider Elite Camp a few weeks later in June.
He is the first prospect in New England's 2020 class to make a verbal commitment to a division I basketball program.
