McGary to Visit UConn

Brewster Academy big man Mitch McGary will take an unofficial visit to UConn this weekend as was first reported by ESPN.com’s Dave Telep.

McGary is a six-foot-nine two-hundred-and-fifty-five pound big man who recently finished his first season at Brewster and his seen his stock spike this spring, topping out as the fourth ranked prospect in the national class of 2012 in the most recent ESPNU 100.

Prior to arriving at Brewster McGary was already a well known commodity with offers from Purdue, Miami, Marquette, Miami, and Cincinnati but that’s now just the tip of the iceberg now as he is coveted by virtually every powerhouse high-major program in the country including Arizona, Texas, Duke, North Carolina, Florida, Florida State, UConn, Louisville, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Memphis, Kentucky and Kansas.

The defending national champions are expecting McGary to be on campus unofficially this weekend, making the short trip from Brewster Academy’s New Hampshire campus on his way back to his Indiana home.

While McGary’s size and power are absolutely off the charts and his southpaw skill set pretty impressive as well, what really makes him special is his tremendous motor and unrivaled intensity as he plays with tremendous passion each time he takes the floor and makes those around him better by forcing them to raise the level of their intensity.
