Cairo McCrory 2020

NE6 and incoming Woodstock Academy post-graduate Cairo McCrory made a verbal commitment to the University of Massachusetts Amherst on Friday.

A Connecticut native who spent the last two years at the Master's School in West Simsbury after beginning his career at Northwest Catholic High School, McCrory becomes the fourth Woodstock product to commit to UMass in the last two classes as Tre Mitchell, Preston Santos, and T.J. Weeks were all part of the 2019 class alongside former Woodstock Academy head coach Tony Bergeron, who is now an assistant coach with the Minutemen.

In McCrory, the Minutemen are landing a long and athletic volume-scorer on the wing.

McCrory took both his game and recruitment to new levels last year at the Master's School, not only being named All-New England in Class AA of the NEPSAC but putting up huge numbers against many of the top teams in New England beginning with a 35-point outburst against NMH at the Scholar Roundball Classic.

This spring and summer, McCrory put up 13.6 points per game in the Under Armour Association while shooting 55% from the floor and 38% from the arc to help NE6 qualify for the UAA Finals.

McCrory becomes the second member of that team to commit to an Atlantic 10 school joining Hasan Ward, who made a late pledge to VCU in the class of 2019.

Below are some of McCrory's highlights from last season care of Splash Productions.
