Maurice Taylor Makes Commitment
Jacquil and Maurice Taylor may be separated by a year, but they have gotten used to sharing the spotlight.
It began at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School to start their high school careers, continued at Beaver Country Day School last season, and extended onto the AAU circuit where they have played under their father, Maurice Taylor Sr., with the Prodigy Basketball Club.
Because of their long history together, the assumption was that the brothers would stay together to play their college basketball. Now, that might not necessarily be the case following Maurice Taylor Jr.’s Tuesday night commitment to North Carolina A&T following a weekend visit.
Taylor Sr. announced his son’s commitment via twitter on Tuesday night:
“Maurice Taylor Jr. Has committed to NC A&T and Jacquil Taylor has gained interest from NC State,” @MauriceTaylor50 tweeted.
The eldest Taylor brother is a long and athletic player with a versatile game and advanced individual scoring tools. He’s especially dangerous along the baseline, where has a knack for getting to the rim and making plays.
Below are Taylor’s video highlights from Ballas TV as well as his interview with NERR’s A.J. Stokes from Cox Sports at last June’s New England Elite 75 Showcase.
