Marfo Makes Pick
Worcester Academy and BABC big man Kevin Marfo announced his decision via twitter on Friday afternoon.
His commitment was the culmination of a huge AAU season and subsequent escalation in his recruitment with offers from the ACC, Big East and Big Ten conferences among others.
Marfo cut his list to ten following the July evaluation period and then to five in early September before taking visits to Boston College, Providence and then George Washington.
He spoke about those three schools earlier this week on the CoxHub "Upside" Podcast.
That all led up to Friday's decision, which came as a surprise to many, when Marfo pledged to George Washington:
I am grateful and appreciative to all the schools that recruited me. But I will be spending the next 4 years at George Washington University

Marfo's commitment is a huge one for George Washington as they land one of the premier rebounders in the entire country, a consistent double-double threat and a player who obviously turned down higher levels to join the Colonials.
A 6-foot-8 big man, Marfo should be capable of seeing time at both the center and power forward positions over the course of the next four years and while his ability to rebound the ball is definitely his biggest asset, especially on the defensive end of the floor, his offense is also coming along well with very polished footwork on the low post.
He joins former Hilltopper forward Matt Cimino to become the second Worcester Academy product to commit to GW in the last three years.
