March Commitment Catch-Up

This is an article catching you up on some of the recent small college commitments throughout the region.

Jared Berry from Vermont Academy is headed to the NESCAC to play for Trinity. The floor general is tough, unselfish, and battle tested against the highest level of competition in New England. Berry competed in the Hoop Group Showcase League for Metro Boston.

Ray Johnson from Marianapolis Prep will be playing for Regis next year. He is a skilled guard loaded with intangibles. Johnson finished last summer playing AAU basketball for Long Island Heat Lightning.

Ivan Darko from Plymouth North has committed to play at Nichols. The guard can space the floor, finish at the rim, and make some plays off the bounce. Darko finished his club basketball career with Rise Above.

Brady Spencer from Pembroke will be playing in the CCC for Salve Regina. The forward can hit open treys, attack closeouts, and get after it on the defensive glass. Spencer played on the ZGXL circuit for Middlesex Magic - Corcoran.

Hunter Fleming from Northfield Mount Hermon earned an opportunity to play at Wesleyan. The stretch big is a reliable rebounder and walls up well around the rim. Fleming competed on the ZGXL circuit for Prodigy Basketball.

Stephen Willand from Marianapolis Prep will be staying in the region at Worcester State. The big man has inside/out scoring tools to go with being a physical presence on defense. Willand finished last summer playing AAU basketball for Long Island Heat Lightning.

Collin Johnson from Tabor Academy is headed to WPI. The forward rebounds well on the defensive glass and needs to be accounted for from beyond the arc. Johnson played on the ZGXL circuit for Rise Above.

Nick Ruisi from Cheshire Academy will be heading to Pennsylvania to play for Scranton. The forward’s blend of size and shooting helped him contribute in NEPSAC Class AA this past year. Ruisi played on the ZGXL circuit for Empire Youth Athletics.

Will Laplante’s next step will be at Western New England in the CCC. The sharpshooting guard can score in bunches when he gets hot. Laplante competed on the ZGXL circuit for Mass Premier.
