Lund Makes Pick

The Rivers School’s six-foot-seven big man Nick Lund ended his recruitment lately with a verbal commitment to Claremont McKenna College, a growing division III program located in southern California, just outside of Los Angeles.

“Getting into Claremont McKenne College is a dream come true for me,” Lund said.  “Their academic and basketball excellence is nationally acclaimed.  My family support has been tremendous and I could not have done this without them.”

Lund is currently in his second season at the Rivers School, after beginning his career at Woburn Memorial High School.

“Coach Mirken and my Rivers’ teammates have been behind me 100%,” Lund said, “and I am very excited to work hard towards our goals this year.”

Lund is a physically imposing interior presence with solid athleticism.  He runs the floor extremely well for a player of his size, has an evolving southpaw skill set, and makes an immediate impact on the defensive end of the floor.

He averaged 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 blocks per game during his junior season at Rivers.

Claremont-McKenna is currently 9-0 on the season, including a win over Azusa Pacific, the top ranked preseason team in NAIA division I basketball.
