Luka Damjanac Commits to UMass

Last week, Wilbraham & Monson/Vienna Timberwolves/Bosnia & Herzegovina U18 2024 6’10” big Luka Damjanac announced his commitment to UMass following his final high school season as a post-grad this year.

Damjanac competed for Vienna Timberwolves in the Austrian Bundesliga from 2021-2023, scoring 7 points and grabbing 3 rebounds in just 10 minutes of playing time during his most recent contest with the team against OCS Capital Bulls.

This past July, Damjanac competed for Bosnia & Herzegovina in the 2023 FIBA U18 European Championship Division B in Matosinhos, Portugal, which featured 22 national teams from across Europe.

He averaged 4.3 points and 4.6 rebounds in just over 12 minutes of playing time during the event, scoring as many as 13 in a victory over Albania and grabbing as many 11 boards in a win against Georgia.

It is always amazing to see how quickly the move to New England can put recruits from out of the region in a position to start receiving Division I interest right away, as he earned his first offer from American University just a couple weeks into the school year.

Following his post-grad season this year, Damjanac will not have to travel far, as UMass-Amherst sits only about a half hour drive away from Wilbraham & Monson.

It will be exciting to track his progress during his first season in New England this year and throughout the next chapter of his career with the UMass Minutemen.
