Love is D1 Bound
New Hampton School senior point guard Donovan Love committed to Wofford today following an official to their South Carolina campus.
A 6-foot-2 southpaw point guard known for his speed, quickness and ability to make plays with the ball in his hands, Love will be heading to Wofford with unique experience after three full seasons competing at the highest levels of prep school basketball as well as on the Nike EYBL with Expressions Elite.
“Everyone at New Hampton is really excited for Donovan,” Huskies head coach Pete Hutchins said. “Wofford is a program with a rich tradition and they are getting a terrific young man who will be ready to contribute in the Southern Conference right away.”
Love played an important role in New Hampton’s run to the NEPSAC AAA regular season championship this season and is joining a Wofford program that has gone to the NCAA tournament four times in the last seven years.
He becomes the New Hampton’s fifth player to commit to a division I school in the class of 2016 as he joins David Dileo (Central Michigan), Jimbo Lull (San Francisco), Malik Massey (UNC Greensboro) and Will Rayman (Colgate).
