Lofton Commits to St. Bonaventure
In the moments after Putnam Science Academy took the 2018 National Prep Championship, in a game that went to overtime only after he blocked a potential game winning three at the end of regulation, Kyle Lofton and his teammates returned to their locker room at Connecticut College and then had something else to celebrate.
Lofton, who has been the team's point guard all season long and earned various offers in the Atlantic 10 along the way, announced his commitment to St. Bonaventure.
I would like to say thank you to my family, friends, @PSAhoops @thefirmbball @UCvikings for everything they have done for mewith that being said I will be attending st.Bonaventure University #GoBonas pic.twitter.com/4N67B1ZbXN

Lofton finished his high school career at Union Catholic in New Jersey without a single division I scholarship offer. In fact, it wasn't until last August, after two years playing on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit with The Firm, that his first offer came. But his recruitment quickly intensified after arriving at Putnam Science Academy as he simultaneously proved himself against higher levels of competition while also expanding his game at a rapid rate.
Lofton is a true point guard with good size, outstanding length, and big hands. He has a terrific left hand, advanced understanding of how to play pick and roll, and natural economy of motion going through the lane. He's also a high level defender who should be ready to impact the game on both ends of the floor in the Atlantic 10.
