Lee’s Darwich D1 Bound

A native of the Middle East who came to northern Maine to play two years of prep school basketball, Sergio El Darwich's basketball world tour will continue in South Dakota following Thursday's commitment to South Dakota State.

El Darwich was one of the better kept secrets in the New England prep ranks this year, despite putting up a series of big games against top competition.

A six-foot-four combo-guard who has skill and savvy, El Darwich has unique poise and composure with the ball in his hands and is also capable of seeing time at all three perimeter positions at the next level. 

He becomes the fourth member of Lee Academy's 2016 team to commit to a division I school as he joins Vitaliy Shibel (Arizona State), Nedeljko Prijovic (Texas State) and Marcel Kliniewski (Seattle).
