Lee Forward Comes off the Board

Lee Academy senior forward Rudolfs Stradnieks made a verbal commitment to Southern Illinois last week.

The six-foot-nine power forward became a priority mid-major recruit during the course of the season scoring offers from Drexel, Miami (OH), Evansville, Wright State and Niagara among others.

Stradniaks is a true senior who arrived from Latvia just prior to the school year and made a relatively quick adjustment to the speed and physicality of the American game, averaging 11 points and 6 rebounds on the season for a Lee Academy squad that finished with a record of 19-2. 

An athletic and mobile six-foot-nine four-man, Stradnieks is also skilled inside and out and so he has a plethora of tools and talent to continue to develop at the next level.

Stradnieks has also starred for Latvia's junior national team.
