Lee Big Man Headed to Atlantic 10

For college coaches, it’s a steep challenge to find any type of recruiting value late in the spring, especially if your needs are big, but St. Bonaventure has done just that with a commitment from Lee Academy’s Youssou Ndoye

A six-foot-ten two-hundred-and-thirty-seven pound center, Ndoye committed to St. Bonaventure over another offer from conference rival Duquesne.  He had also seen recruitment from Auburn, Texas Pan-Am, and Illinois State.

Ndoye is a native of Senegal who arrived at Lee this fall with a great deal of untapped potential.  In addition to his size, he also has terrific defensive instincts and should be able to make immediate contributions on that end of the floor with his shot blocking, rebounding, and ability to defend the paint.

Offensively, he’s come a long way in the last year and has the tools to continue to improve.  He moves and catches pretty well for a guy his size, occupies space in the post, and has a soft around the rim.

St. Bonaventure finished in the top half of the Atlantic 10 for the third consecutive season this year, finishing 8-8 in conference, 16-15 overall, and being selected to play in the post-season College Basketball Invitational (CBI) Tournament.
