Layman Scheduling Visits

Jake Layman was one of the big winners of the July live period as he went from a fringe high-major prospect to a priority for some of college basketball's most prestigious programs.

With a plethora of options now in front of him, Layman is starting to narrow his options.

On Monday the King Philip star said that he would take official visits to Florida, Louisville, Maryland, and Syracuse this fall with Wake Forest being a possibility as well.

Seniors are allowed to take a maximum of five official visits per NCAA rules.

Layman held high-major offers from Maryland, Notre Dame, and Providence heading into July but scored numerous others following his big month.

The six-foot-eight swingman made his debut among the nation's top 100 prospects this month when he appeared at 54 on the ESPNU 100, the highest an MIAA prospect has been in recent history.

Layman is an extremely long and highly athletic swingman who excelled at the top of BABC's trademark three-quarter court defense this summer and also began to demonstrate a half-court skill set on the offensive end.
