Ryan Layman 2017

Tilton School and BABC senior forward Ryan Layman made a verbal commitment to Bryant on Tuesday, announcing his decision via his twitter account.

The 6-foot-7 forward is a Wrentham, Massachusetts native who began his career at King Philip High School before transferring into Tilton and joining the Rams last year.

He has come up the ranks with the BABC and participated in the Nike EYBL in each of the last two seasons, both of which ended in appearances in the EYBL Finals at the Nike Peach Jam. Ironically, Bryant head coach Tim O'Shea is a BABC alum himself, having played with the program in 1980.

Layman is also the younger brother of former Maryland forward Jake Layman, who was drafted in the second round of the recent 2016 NBA Draft by the Portland Trailblazers.

Bryant is landing a versatile forward who shoots the ball consistently to the arc, has the athleticism to rise up explosively around the rim and the versatility to potentially play multiple positions.
