Laczkowski Headed to Army
Wilbraham and Monson Academy & ProSkills Basketball big man Tate Laczkowski announced his commitment to Army yesterday.
Before coming to New England, Laczkowski played his high school ball at St. Mark’s School in Dallas, Texas. His final year for the Lions was a successful one. Laczkowski earned SPC All-Conference Team honors.
A decision was made that he would be doing a post-grad year at WMA. Laczkowski is a starter on a Titans squad that has already won 12 games while playing their consistently difficult schedule.
He also earned an opportunity this past summer to play on the Nike EYBL Circuit for ProSkills Basketball. Laczkowski was part of a team that made it to the Peach Jam Invitational Final, including going 6-1 to finish first in Pool B.
“Tate has shown from day one on campus he was committed to making the most of this 5th year,” said WMA head coach Mike Mannix. “He has been in the weight room and puts in an incredible amount of work on his own.”
“He is coachable and loves the game of basketball. As a bonus, he has a true appreciation for the game and its history. West Point needs a certain type of player and individual, I believe Tate is a fit in all of these ways.”
Laczkowski becomes the fourth member of WMA’s 2023 class who has finalized their plans to play college basketball next season. He is the second member who will be competing at a Division One school.
