Knowling is coming off a very succesful 2018-19 campaign, both during the high school and grassroots seasons. He averaged 19 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 assists per game for East Catholic while helping to lead them to a CIAC state championship. This summer, he played a key role for Middlesex Magic as they won their third straight HGSL championship and captured their latest Super 16 Championship as well.
"Matt Knowling is an amazing player with his best basketball ahead of him," said East Catholic head coach Luke Reilly. "I've known Coach James Jones for over 25 years and he and his staff have done an incredible job building the program. The elite standards in all areas at Yale are a perfect fit for Matt."
He becomes the third member of last year's East Catholic team to accept a division I scholarship offer as he prepares to lead the team during his upcoming senior season.
